Evonik has transitioned its global epoxy curing agent production sites to operate entirely on renewable electricity, the company announced. Facilities in Germany, the U.K., Japan, the U.S., and Singapore are now powered by 100% green electricity, aligning with Evonik’s climate strategy and customer demand for more sustainable solutions.
The shift is expected to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by approximately 30% annually and supports Evonik’s target to reduce those emissions by 25% by 2030. The change also contributes to the company’s broader goal of reaching climate neutrality by 2050.
“This decision is another strong step in our sustainability journey,” said Tobias Winkler, global sustainability manager for Evonik Crosslinkers. Christina Walkosak, senior vice president of epoxy curing agents, added that the move helps position Evonik as a long-term partner to the epoxy industry while reducing its environmental impact.
