| Deer
And Stag Shooting Seasons |
There
are three stag / deer hunts in the UK (The Tiverton Staghounds
- Quantock Staghounds - Devon & Somerset Staghounds) and they
are all in the South West of the country. They to can only flush
out with two dogs and must be shot by a competent person.
Deer
are often found in a wide variety of habitats, ranging from open
moor to thick cover in conifer or deciduous woodland. The ideal
habitat could be considered as coppice and pockets of deciduous
woodland on land that is not intensely farmed, this linked by
thick hedgerows and dotted with small copses.
There
are different kinds of deer and stags whom all have different
seasons. Some of the shooting seasons for stags / deer finish
before the actual end of the hunting season. If you see a Red
Hinds being shot after the 29th of February, this is then illegal.
It should be reported to Hunt Watch so action can be taken.
